Today I sent an email to 60 or so people in my contacts list, asking for $1 as a vote of confidence in my vision. Was super nervous, felt “spammy” almost. Within 3 hours, I got $3, and another person asked me, “is this legit?”
Is this legit? 100% yes.
I believe I can transform “guys nights.” I believe there are men out there that realize their friendships are mediocre. I also believe that many younger men either don’t have any or many friends. And the younger generation is less equipped that previous generations to build friendships the way they should be.
I don’t know my next step. Should I work on the playbook? Should I record a video and send for proof that my idea is legit? Should I build a logo and LLC?
I’m reading Million Dollar Weekend. That’s where the idea of the $1 ask email came from. The advice it tells me is to find customers who would pay you to solve the problem. Have those conversations.
That’s what I’ll do. Reach out to the people that voted for me with their dollar. Ask them questions about their friendships.
And I need to work on the agend for our April Band. Rating our Growth is the topic. I need to clarify what it means to grow, and to cultivate a desire to grow.
Here’s the question:
[Friend], thank you for your vote of confidence! I’m trying to learn as much as I can about men’s friendships. How would you describe your closest group of friends?
I just text all 3. That’s good for now.
Back to work on building KCI!
